"Autobahn" haben Details zu ihrem neuen Album „Ecstasy Of Ruin“ bekannt gegeben, das am Freitag, den 28. April 2023 auf Tough Love Records veröffentlicht wird. Knapp fünf Jahre nach ihrem letzten Album kommt die Band dann mit ihrem dritten Werk „Ecstasy Of Ruin“ zurück. Ein halbes Jahrzehnt ist sowohl eine lange Zeit als auch keine Zeit: Alles ändert sich, aber manche Dinge bleiben ewig... So sind Autobahn zwar mit vielen Merkmalen ihrer charakteristischen Mischung aus Industrial-Post-Punk wieder aufgetaucht, aber unter der Haube sind sie eine viel schlankere, konzentriertere Maschine. Autobahn 3.0!
Das Quartett aus Leeds hat außerdem ein Video zu „Post-History“, dem ersten Song des Albums, veröffentlicht. Sänger Craig Johnson von der Band sagt über den Track: „„Post-History“ is a philosophical look of what happens after society ends. Does the concept of the past also come to an end? There would be no consciousness to understand history. After being introduced to the theory of post-capitalism, I began to believe that all major historical events might be behind us and that my worth as an individual is diminished. It seems there is no escape from the capitalistic beast: fall in line or be forgotten. This led me to question the point of all the struggle. Which brings you to think “Who gives a fuck?”. The video is a nod to experimental filmmaker Takashi Itoh. It depicts the human form, how it can be distorted, and a way to break on through.”
