Foxygen, das in Los Angeles ansässige Duo aus Sam France und Jonathan Rado, teilt mit „Work“ eine neue Single von ihrem bevorstehenden Album „Seeing Other People“, das am 26. April über Jagjaguwar veröffentlicht wird. „Work“ folgt der „cheeky and synth-heavy” (Consequence of Sound) Single „Face The Facts” sowie der grüblerischen Lead-Single „Livin' A Lie”. I’m just doin’ all the work, if you got something to say then say it // if I’m such a f*ckin’ jerk then why don’t you write it all down? // are you really doing work, working hard or hardly workin’ now?

„Seeing Other People“ erscheint am 26.

„Seeing Other People“ ist Foxygens bisher eindeutigstes „Goodbye“-Album: „Goodbye to the drugs, to the partying. Goodbye to my twenties now, Goodbye to my Saint Laurent-model-body. Goodbye to the touring circus — that’s right, no more shows or tours for a while. Goodbye, hopefully, to the anxiety attacks. Goodbye to beating myself up because I didn’t fit into those leather pants anymore. Fuck it. Goodbye to the facilities. And goodbye the leeches in my life“, sagt Sam France.

„I remember a quote from Rado sticking with the press a few years ago about how we’d lived every rock'n'roll cliche in, about, one year. Well, here’s the album about it. Another movie. I don’t know what’s next. But here’s a snapshot of it all.
